Installing the plugin
The plugin is delivered in the form of a Windows self-extracting executable based on Inno Setup. If you click on the file it will start and run as most Windows installers do. Please take care about which directory you install the plugin into. The installer will try to select for you the most appropriate directory but you have to check that it is correct, or the plugin will simply be ignored by Studio, without even a little alert. The directory to be selected depends not on which version of the plugin you are using, but on which version of Trados Studio you want to execute the plugin into. Here are the possibilities:
- For Studio 2011
- C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\10\Plugins where [account] is to be replaced by your login name (if you have Studio 2011 installed in your computer, the installer will try to find this directory)
- For Studio 2014
- C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11\Plugins where [account] is to be replaced by your login name (note the 11 in the directory name)
- C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11\Plugins where [account] is to be replaced by your login name
- C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11\Plugins : note that this is not account-dependant, meaning that you install the plugin for all users of the computer. This is the default choice when the installer detects Studio 2014 installed.
- For Studio 2015
- C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins where [account] is to be replaced by your login name (note the 12 in the directory name)
- C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins where [account] is to be replaced by your login name

Is the plugin installed? If it is signed, the plugin will not show any window indicating that it is installed. Have a look at the plugins menu (Studio 2011) or ribbon (later versions) : it shoud appear as "Database translation provider":
